water table

The term 'water table' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' The surface of underground, gravity-controlled water. The level of ground water. The boundary in the ground between where the ground is saturated with water (zone of saturation) and where the ground is filled with water and air (zone of aeration). The upper surface of the zone of saturation of ground water above an impermeable layer of soil or rock (through which water cannot move) as in an unconfined aquifer. This level can be very near the surface of the ground or far below it'.

The term 'water table' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' The level below the earth's surface at which the ground becomes saturated with water. The water table is set where hydrostatic pressure equals atmospheric pressure'.

The term 'water table' as it applies to the area of water can be defined as 'the top of the water surface in the saturated part of an aquifer'.

The term 'water table' as it applies to the area of carbon dioxide can be defined as ' The level of groundwater'.
